For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to brands that sit just outside the mainstream—brands that create not just clothing, but identity, attitude, and a sense of belonging for people who don’t quite fit neatly into the cultural boxes around them. Bad Monday Apparel, Modern Streets Apparel, WHO Clothing, and Blind Maggot have been huge influences on me. Each one, in its own way, has shaped how I see style, creativity, and the power of a brand with a message.
What inspires me most about these companies isn’t just the designs—it’s their authenticity. They’ve built communities around honesty, humour, grit, and being unapologetically yourself. They speak to the people who aren’t trying to be “somebody” in the stereotypical sense, but who are happy living off-beat, carving out their own lane, and embracing their flaws, passions, and contradictions. That’s the energy that resonates with me, and it’s the foundation of how I want my own apparel journey to unfold.
I know building a brand takes time, persistence, and a lot of learning. But that challenge excites me. I’m starting by designing and DTF-printing my own work—getting hands-on, experimenting, learning what works and what doesn’t. My long-term ambition is to move into silk screen and digital printing to push the quality and expression of my ideas even further. I want to create pieces that feel personal and intentional, not mass-produced or empty.
One of my biggest goals is to collaborate with unsung talent—artists, designers, illustrators, and creators who deserve a platform but rarely get one. I know how much alternative subcultures thrive when new voices are invited in, and I want my brand to help showcase the creativity of people who have something important to say but no stage to stand on.
My work will always be influenced by off-beat music and the feeling of being an outsider looking in. I want to create clothing that speaks to the people who’d rather be a nobody than a stereotypical somebody—the ones who connect more with underground venues, late-night thoughts, and raw emotion than with polished trends.
This is just the beginning, but it’s a beginning I’m proud of. With time, hard work, and the inspiration of the brands that paved the way for me, I’m ready to start building something real—something honest—one design at a time.
